DIFFERENCES BETWEEN PROFESSIONAL AND AMATEUR VIDEO
|
FIRST IMPRESSION OF YOUR BAND IS MOST IMPORTANT TO FANS AND PROMOTERS!
|
If you are a new artist and would like to make a first impression on promoters, agents, record labels
and most importantly, fans…you should have a professional edited video even if it's only one song
on a video. Why should you have a professional video or your band’s performance?
Lets say a producer or a promoter was watching the Cable Show “Hard Salsa.” Believe it or not,
producers are watching independent shows like “Hard Salsa Cable show” seeking new talent.
Three bands were featured on the show. Two out of the three submitted a professional video while
the other band submitted an amateur video. Which band do you think will have an impression to
the producer watching the show?
You can rest for sure the producer or the promoter will be calling the two bands that impressed
them the most and of coarse it would be the two bands with the professionally produced video with
perfect audio and perfect camera angle shots.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PROFESSIONAL VIDEO AND AN AMATEUR VIDEO?

Lets take a look at one band that recently performed in NYC at the world famous club SOBs, The
Latin Giants. Hundreds of people recorded the performances with their cell phones and their
personal handycam video recorders. Video #1 was recorded by a music fan that attended the
concert. They recorded the show with their handycam. The second video was recorded by
Soundworks Recording Studio with two Handycam.
