Tender Love - Paul Ortiz Y La Orquesta Son Recording Session 1969 Photos by Jose Madera
|
1992 Tito Nieves recorded his rendition of “Tender
Love.” Many youngsters during that era got impression
Nieves was the original artist of this vintage hot Latin
Soul Eastside classic. It takes the older crowd to
educate our children and informed them many of the
music they hear today are not the originals. Nieves did a
fabulous job with his version of “Tender Love” in 1992
however, you can not top or compare the 1969 funky
classic Latin Soul version of Paul Ortiz Y La Orquesta
Son. “Tender Love” by Paul Ortiz will remain a classic in
my heart and will be cherished by many of Latin Soul
fans no matter who remakes the song.
I would like to thank Jose Madera (Timbalero - Orquesta
Son) for these classic photos of The Recording Session
of “Tender Love.” Recorded at the Broadway Recording
Studio in 1969. Definitely I will cherish these photos
forever. Thanks Jose. These pictures are hot!

My late aunt Sonia owned the Test Press of Tender
Love. At the age of 5, I must have played this record
approximately 1,000 times and that is no exaggeration.
This test press has been damaged beyond repair and
can barely be heard when played on a photograph. I am
paying the price now for damaging my aunt’s records by
repurchasing her classic Latin Soul LPs.
