Andy Meets Jerry Hernandez of
Orquesta Dee Jay
It is my goal to meet all my favorite Latin
Soul and Salsa Dura artist and musicians
before I kick the bucket.  On September
2nd 2006 at the Salsa Congress held at the
Hilton Hotel in Manhattan I got to meet
another great musician, Jerry Hernandez
of Orquesta Dee Jay.  Jerry Hernandez
was the trombonist for Orquesta Dee Jay.
One of my favorite Sweet Latin Soul Tunes
he recorded with the group was "Forget it"
with the late vocalist "Joe Rivera."
Visit
the Orquesta Dee Jay Photo Gallery.
Here is a classic flyer provided
by Joe Acosta/the Power of
Love.  This is truly a classic
memorabilia especially for
those musicians that were
doing their Latin Thing and
remembered the good o’ days
in the Bronx at the Puerto Rico
Theatre in 1972 when they
were jammin’ their butts off.
Too bad I couldn’t attend.  I
was 4 years old.
