Andy Finally Meets Joe Acosta
|
Did you ever dream of meeting your favorite musician, Super Hero, band leader,
singer or your favorite actor or actress when you were younger? Did you once say
to yourself “Man, I’ll never get a chance to meet Spiderman, Tito Puente or Halle
Berry or even King Kong?" King Kong was my favorite childhood monster. I don't
think I'll ever get to meet King Kong. But.......I met a King Kong musician and
bandleader from my childhood.
Dreams can come true and it did for me on May 5th 2006 when I met the man, Joe
Acosta for lunch who converted my musical preference at the age of 5 from
Pop/Rock to Latin Soul and Latin Jazz with his smashing Sweet Latin Soul hit “I Need
Her.” Click here to read the story.
Joe Acosta truly a man with a great sense of humor and a pleasing dispositional
personality arrived exactly at 12:30pm in front of the main entrance of The Bronx Zoo
as we planned.

“Hello, can you hear me now damn it!” Hey Joe, where the hell do you think you're going with that LP you have in your hands? That's my LP I purchased at Ebay for $13.00. I don't care if it has your name printed with big bold fonts. I know Joe, the LP is about $200.00 now. You're gonna have to go on Ebay and maybe you'll get lucky and find your own copy of the LP you recorded in 1971.

At El Rey Del Marico Restaurant during our lunch engagement I showed my copy of
his LP “The Power of Love” he recorded in 1971 on the rare record label “Ghetto
Records” and he was amazed on how the cover and the vinyl recording was in
mint condition without a single blemish or faded text. He admitted his copy is
badly damaged and the credits on his LP are impossible to read.
I kind of got the impression he wanted to keep my record. I thought he was going
to get in his car and drive away with my LP. Didn't you see the previous photo? He
made it appear he was talking on the cell phone to distract me. LOL!
Only kidding. I gave him the LP so we can take this photo and then he got a call on
his cell phone.
I told him, "I'll let you have the LP if I die before you do. I'll put it on my will that
way. That’s the only way you’re gonna get your hands on this LP." LOL!
The Album That Dominated The Fania All Stars Legends on The Billboard Charts in 1971 is Finally on CD!
